Overview
If Enzoic for Active Directory (E4AD) is installed on domain controllers in different Active Directory Sites, the default inter-site replication interval of 180 minutes (3 hours) can cause delays in policy updates, monitored OU changes, or cause domain controllers to appear offline in the Enzoic console.
Reducing the replication interval ensures that configuration updates in the Enzoic AD container are synchronized faster between sites.
Check and Update the Inter-Site Replication Interval
Open Active Directory Sites and Services
On a domain controller or a workstation with RSAT installed, open:
Active Directory Sites and Services
Expand the Sites Folder
In the left pane, expand Sites → Inter-Site Transports → IP.
Locate the Site Link
Click the site link that connects the sites where your DCs are located (e.g.,
DEFAULTIPSITELINK
unless renamed).
Open Properties
Right-click the site link and choose Properties.
Check the Current Interval
Look for Replication interval (in minutes).
By default, this is 180.
Adjust to a More Frequent Interval
Change the value to something more reasonable for your environment — for example, 30 minutes.
This means domain controllers in different sites will replicate every 30 minutes instead of every 3 hours.
Click OK to Save Changes
The new interval will apply automatically; no reboot is required.
Why This Helps
Enzoic for Active Directory relies on its AD configuration container being synchronized across all DCs at all times.
If replication between sites is delayed, you may see:
Missing or out-of-date monitored OUs
Policies not applying across all DCs
DCs appearing as “offline” in Enzoic’s System Health
Reducing the replication interval speeds up the time it takes for changes to propagate, ensuring Enzoic has up-to-date information across the environment.
Tip: If your environment supports it, also ensure replication health is good by running:
repadmin /replsummary
This will help verify there are no underlying AD connectivity issues.
